About The Position

Fremont Hospital is a fully accredited, 148-bed private inpatient psychiatric hospital providing quality care for children through adults. The facility provides a full assortment of care which includes assessments, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial-hospitalization, intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment as well as chemical dependency outpatient care. The Lead Milieu Therapist is responsible for mental health services to assigned patients/units and their families which include group, individual, and family therapy; assessments and evaluation, documentation, tracking outcomes, and reports; has the ability to perform clear, concise, and timely documentation and correspondence using database system; completes clinical documentation within established time frames; attends weekly Treatment Team meetings and makes recommendation on patients as needed; works with the treatment team to create, personalize and update all Treatment Plans and other necessary documentation, and assuring that plans are consistent with hospital policy, state licensing regulations and Joint Commission accreditation requirements; supports with the day-to-day tasks of group assignments, family meetings, trains and supervisor other therapists, program development, and steps in for coverage as and when needed; serves as a liaison with other professionals, other departments within the agency, and agencies involved with patient’s care; participates in meetings as requested.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Counseling or another recognized therapeutic field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 plus years’ experience as a therapist required.
  • 1 or more year of direct clinical experience in a psychiatric, mental health, or a comparable setting preferred.
  • CA state licensure (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD) or Associate License required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health services to assigned patients/units and their families, including group, individual, and family therapy.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations.
  • Perform documentation, track outcomes, and generate reports.
  • Complete clear, concise, and timely documentation and correspondence using a database system.
  • Complete clinical documentation within established time frames.
  • Attend weekly Treatment Team meetings and make recommendations on patients.
  • Work with the treatment team to create, personalize, and update all Treatment Plans and other necessary documentation, ensuring consistency with hospital policy, state licensing regulations, and Joint Commission accreditation requirements.
  • Support day-to-day tasks of group assignments and family meetings.
  • Train and supervise other therapists.
  • Contribute to program development.
  • Provide coverage as and when needed.
  • Serve as a liaison with other professionals, other departments within the agency, and agencies involved with patient’s care.
  • Participate in meetings as requested.
