The Lead Medication Coordinator (AL) is responsible for overseeing the Assisted Living medication administration program and its staff. This role ensures compliance with medication administration protocols and regulations, trains Medication Coordinators, and conducts regular audits of medication records. The Lead Medication Coordinator also develops and implements medication management policies, collaborates with healthcare professionals, and ensures resident safety protocols are in place. They are expected to address and expedite changes in residents' health and behavior, including possible medication side effects, to appropriate leadership, while upholding residents' dignity, privacy, and independence.
