The successful candidate: Shift: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm. This position will oversee Hematology, Coagulation and Urinalysis departments. The Lead Medical Technologist oversees day-to-day activities of assigned departments within the laboratory and acts as a support and subject matter expert for the laboratory and hospital staff. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, State and local regulatory agencies requirements and smooth operation of the laboratory. Performs a variety of routine and complex procedures with speed and accuracy. Have a deep understanding of the theory behind each of the procedures performed and assist in decision-making, problem solving and troubleshooting. Performs other duties as assigned by laboratory management. Must be available to sign-up for on-call shifts and provide coverage for other shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Lab Science, Biological Sciences or related field from an accredited college or University
  • 5 years laboratory experience
  • Certification required (ASCP or AMT) or eligible to take exam.
  • Must successfully complete certification within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities
