The Lead Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist performs tests on blood and body fluids to determine the presence or absence of disease, monitor response to treatment, and aid in health maintenance. The Lead is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and review of quality control and proficiency testing as directed from technical supervisors. The Lead is responsible for daily workflow management and works with the supervisor to ensure policies, procedures, and personnel are appropriate. They are responsible for using critical thinking and clinical knowledge to assess questionable results and correlate with clinical information to determine accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree must be obtained within 90 days OR High School Diploma or equivalent AND Grandfathered status under CLIA Regulations
  • Certified as a Medical Technologist (ASCP)/ Clinical Laboratory Scientist from a nationally recognized laboratory certifying agency or eligible to sit for exam at time of hire; must obtain ASCP within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities
