About The Position

Experience in OB / Pediatrics highly preferred. This position will greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and perform other front desk activities. This position will also facilitate patient processing, ensuring excellent customer service and positive patient flow.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of medical clinic administrative support processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • High level of professionalism, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to pleasantly and effectively represent the organization.
  • High school diploma or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of related experience.
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance.
  • El Proyecto will reimburse employees for their mileage at the current rate set by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • To receive mileage reimbursement, the employee must log their mileage and submit the mileage expense report to their Appropriate Administrator.
  • Walking, talking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 10 pounds; hand and wrist dexterity to utilize a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in OB / Pediatrics highly preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and oversee front office staff and patient processing.
  • Stagger work schedules to ensure coverage.
  • Ensure proper communication between front and back offices.
  • Greet medical clinic patients upon arrival, collect necessary information, and get patients checked in.
  • Receive phone calls, screen, and direct calls.
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate with staff, facilitate appointment cancellations, and reschedule requests.
  • Verify patient insurance information.
  • Receive payments, complete daily cash flow and log sheets.
  • Complete eligibility interviews to determine payment method.
  • Complete medical clinic front office administrative tasks.
  • Order and maintain front desk supplies.
  • File documents and follow record retention policies.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on difficult issues.
  • Perform supervisor-level responsibilities, which may include but are not limited to overseeing daily operations, managing and training, providing guidance and support, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
