About The Position

PRIME Occupational Medicine's mission is to provide employers worldwide with the best tools to optimize the efficiency necessary to maximize improvement in each worker's health and safety. The Lead Medical Assistant works under the guidance of the Clinic Supervisor to assist with maintaining efficient patient flow and quality care during clinic and on-site hours. This position acts as a liaison between the clinic supervisor and the staff, and is responsible for the training of new staff and yearly certification. The role requires recognizing ethical and legal responsibilities, performing a variety of clinical procedures and administrative duties, and providing supervisory duties in the absence of the clinic supervisor and staff as assigned. The Lead Medical Assistant also keeps the supervisor apprised of early personnel issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide backup support to the medical assistant team, which includes all functions of a medical assistant.
  • Assist with clinic scheduling, problem solving, patient wait times, and other areas of concern to increase efficient and quality services.
  • Review charts, lab test results, and required forms for completeness and to assess follow-up as needed.
  • Oversee medical supplies inventory and perform preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating, including sterilization of medical instruments and supplies are ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Provide support to injury care.
  • Provide on-site services.
  • Work collaboratively with the clinic supervisor and staff on programs to improve client outcomes.
  • Serve as temporary clinic supervisor when the clinic supervisor is out.
  • Perform phlebotomy service and give injections.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
  • Serve and protect the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Enhance practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Assist with performance reviews.
  • May be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Attendance and punctuality is necessary.
