About The Position

Fairview is looking for a Lead Medical Assistant to join their Highland Park team in St. Paul, MN. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position approved for 80 hours every two weeks. The clinic operates Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This position qualifies for a new hire sign-on bonus of up to $2000. As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles by performing high-level functions to support the healthcare team and patients/families. Responsibilities include gathering information and documents for patient visits, adhering to all policies and procedures, promoting teamwork, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and seeking opportunities for process and workflow improvement. Lead Medical Assistants will coordinate daily team activities to ensure patient needs are met, manage daily work assignments and make adjustments as needed, assist with arranging coverage for sick calls, and assign breaks. They will also provide observations and assist with proficiency testing for performance, conduct, and behavior management. The Lead will attend clinic meetings, communicate relevant information, and serve as a clinic representative at peer groups or other meetings. They will foster an empowering and team-centered environment within the department and across other sites. Coordination of staff orientation and training for new and existing staff is also a key function. The Lead MA participates in the interview process and serves as a mentor within the department, supporting organizational initiatives and a safe work environment by ensuring safety policies and practices are maintained. They may also serve as an Infection Control or Safety Liaison, ensure equipment is in working order, and quality control logs are completed. Additionally, they may assist in investigating patient feedback or concerns.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) AHA

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of experience in functional area is preferred

Responsibilities
