About The Position

Goodman Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is the Southeast's largest and most comprehensive full-service skin care provider. It offers medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, vein care, and radiation oncology. Our team is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant who is interested in a dermatology career. The Lead Medical Assistant will provide direct oversight to the dermatology nursing team at their assigned location. Responsibilities include managing workflow and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, company policies, and procedures. This position serves as the point person for day-to-day clinical operations. They work collaboratively with Providers, Medical Assistants, Front Desk staff, Office Managers, and patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of Supervisory experience in a Medical environment.
  • Must have the ability to effectively lead a team in a dermatology office.
  • Excellent oral communication skills; effective communication.
  • Must be able to work well independently but ask for help when needed.
  • The ability to analyze and interpret information.
  • The ability to interact and decipher information telephonically and electronically.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 - 2 years of medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages assigned staffing to fulfill provider and patient needs, serving as the liaison between clinical staff and providers.
  • Monitors patient flow in real time to keep wait times as low as possible.
  • Orders and maintains clinical supplies.
  • Evaluates the performance of staff members, including coaching and performance management processes.
  • Encourages and supports process improvements that promote fiscal responsibility and improved patient care.
  • Assumes responsibility for patient flow processes. Develops strategies to improve efficiency and eliminate barriers that impact patient care.
  • Troubleshoots patient and staff issues. Is responsible for patient satisfaction and complaint resolution.
  • Performs Clinical Assistant tasks as needed to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Leads team of Medical Assistants to accomplish common tasks in a collegial manner.
  • Assists in the training of new staff as needed.
  • Implements current policies and procedures with clinical staff.
  • Keeps logbooks up to date and serves as a company representative to health inspectors.
  • Ensures the timely response to all voicemails and other triage.
  • Performs monthly quality Assessment of the office. Ensures compliance with OSHA and Bio-waste policies.
  • Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks collegially.
  • Able to travel between 2 locations
