Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Current BLS
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Medical Assistant in a physician office
  • 3-5 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records systems required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain established quality controls standards
  • Coordinates and schedules surgeries/procedures, follow up appointments as designated by physicians
  • Interacts with patients, physicians and other staff both within the Clinic and outside facilities providing accurate, time and responsive information
  • Delegates workload in downtime
  • Functions as expert Medical Assistant
  • Obtain authorization via payer website or by phone and follow up regularly on pending cases
  • Coordinates processes and routes all paper work as required to meet physician and facility requirements
  • Manage equipment inventory/ ordering of medical and office supplies
  • Training and direction of new medical assistants
  • General administrative tasks
  • Ensure the needed information and documentation is provided to support revenue cycle activities for office charts and operative reports
