This role works under the supervision of the Office Manager. The Lead Medical Assistant prepares patients for provider exams, takes vital signs, records patient history, and assists in office procedures. They administer treatment, medications, and injections as ordered. This role also conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts prior to appointments with recent test results and correspondence, and calls patients regarding test results as instructed by the provider. Additionally, the Lead Medical Assistant directs the activity of Medical Assistants during their shift, including scheduling, training, daily workload, and staff and client problem resolution.
Requirements
- Completion of Medical Assistant Program required
- Computer skills required
- Excellent customer service skills required
- BLS required within 90 days of hire/transfer
- Completion of annual Medical Assistant Competency training
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Three to five years in a healthcare setting is preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
