Reporting to the General Manager Engineering, this role will oversee the delivery of assigned contract packages, safely, on-time and on-budget. As construction progresses at Mardie, we are continuing to shape our team. We are rapidly progressing the Mardie Salt Operation and Potash Project (Mardie Operation), a tier 1 solar evaporation project that will supply high-purity industrial salt and sulphate of potash (SOP) for more than 60 years. Mardie will be the largest salt operation in Australia and the third largest globally. The Role The Lead Mechanical Engineer supports project development from concept through commissioning and will be responsible for technical leadership and engineering oversight of consultant, contractor, and supplier delivered work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years' experience preferably in mineral processing and design of bulk material handling, Sulphate of Potash (SOP) production or salt purification facilities.
• Proven track record as lead/ senior design engineer preferably in a design consultancy business.
• Chartered Professional Engineer; or eligible for CP Eng, Engineers Australia.
• National police clearance that is not older than 6 months.
• Current unrestricted working rights for Australia.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of assigned contract packages, safely, on-time and on-budget.
• Support project development from concept through commissioning.
• Provide technical leadership and engineering oversight of consultant, contractor, and supplier delivered work.
• Develop scopes of work, design bases, and technical specifications.
• Select and manage engineering consultants.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with BCI Minerals' standards, project requirements, safety objectives, and business strategy.
