About The Position

PAE is seeking a strategic and technically accomplished Lead Mechanical Engineer in our Denver office, to spearhead project teams and drive the technical excellence of our mechanical systems. In this pivotal role, you will transition from individual design work to high-level project oversight, providing the engineering direction and mentorship necessary to bring complex projects from initial concept through final construction. You will serve as a primary technical voice, ensuring that HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection designs are innovative, compliant, and seamlessly integrated with other engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline work
  • Requires a minimum 3-7 years of mechanical design engineering or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and engineering concepts and the ability to effectively communicate to others
  • Knowledge of all project phases
  • Problem solving and analysis
  • Delegation skills
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Revit/AutoCAD

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform Revit/AutoCAD system engineering
  • Design and plan mechanical system design and layouts under the direction of a lead engineer
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical distribution, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Energy Modeling
  • Prepare project deliverables with attention to detail
  • Understand and able to read plans and specifications, develop the skills to edit/write specifications
  • Develop the ability to understand other disciplines
  • Application of building codes, industry standards and mechanical engineering design principals
  • Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection based on calculated load requirements
  • Interact with clients and other project team members
  • Support the project lead in developing opinions of probable construction costs
  • Contribute to site visits and prepare reports
  • Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
