About The Position

Be part of a team that designs aircraft wheels and brakes for the commercial and military aerospace industry. You will prioritize safety and quality in everything you do. As the subject matter expert for wheel and brake static and dynamic analysis, you will perform structural and dynamic evaluations of aircraft wheel and brake assemblies throughout all phases of the IPDS process—from Conceptual Design through Critical Design, Production, and Service. You will author test plans, define instrumentation requirements, and oversee the setup and execution of static and dynamic testing to ensure data integrity. You will process and analyze test data to assess the dynamic performance of wheel and brake systems. In this role, you will interact with customer representatives as well as engineering teams based in South Bend, IN, and at sites in China, India, Mexico, and other locations. You will mentor less‑experienced colleagues and develop novel engineering tools that deliver orders‑of‑magnitude improvements in cost and cycle time. This position reports directly to the Sr. Mechanical Design Engineering Manager and is based at our South Bend, IN site on a hybrid schedule.
