About The Position

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Lead Mechanic to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office. Responsibilities include performing installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects at BWI and Martin State Airports as well as other MES operated facilities throughout the state. This field office is a designated 24/7 emergency essential facility. Therefore, the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions will be required.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school diploma or possession of a GED equivalency certificate plus seven (7) years of experience performing installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Ability to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance.
• Ability to perform confined space entry and lift 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

• Formal training from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field of study may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis for up to three (3) years of the required experience.
