About The Position

This position will be responsible for the entire supply chain flow for designated areas within procedural unit(s) of the hospital, including the OR, CV Services Lab, and/or IR. The role involves collaborating with physicians, suppliers, nursing, contracting, and the entire Saint Luke’s Health System supply chain to ensure all supply-related elements are proactively managed for procedures. The Lead Materials Associate can perform all functions of a clinical materials associate and takes an active leadership role in supply chain improvements such as collaborative projects, guidance/training/mentoring, service level enhancements, cost savings, and value-enhancing data analytics. This role also involves demonstrating self-motivation and a positive attitude, providing guidance to materials associates assigned to designated areas, and collaborating with the clinical team for an appropriate balance of inventory.

Requirements

Associate's Degree in supply chain, health management or related field and 2 years' experience required.
Clinical certificate and 2 years' experience or 5+ years' experience in hospital procedural area supply chain may be substituted in lieu of Associate's Degree.
2 years applicable experience.
Associate Degree.

Nice To Haves

AHRMM CMRP, APICS CPIM or Lean process improvement certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform advance review of planned procedures and any case notes/special needs, and collaborate with all parties involved to ensure any supplies not stocked in the procedural unit are appropriately sourced and coordinate any supplier representative support required for the procedure.
Provide total oversight for entire supply categories in the procedural unit, including proactive communication and issue resolution on supply shortages, backorders, and any other supply disruption that could negatively impact a procedure.
Manage consignment inventory, product evaluations, and associated clinical collaboration for review/product transition.
Leverage supplier representatives for support, ensure supply safety/compliance, and maintain clinical team service level satisfaction.
Oversee and coordinate specialty equipment, partnering with TriMedX and the clinical team to ensure all necessary equipment is available.
Supply ordering of all products for defined areas.
Inventory management of specials (non-standard items) requiring product search and communication with vendor/rep.
Work backorders, coordinating substitutions and/or transfers from other areas/hospitals.
Maintain par levels by balancing inventories through inventory turns/cost of inventory, P.O. tracking, backorder management, sourcing, and communication/collaboration with clinical partners.
Analyze inventory/usage levels and communicate with clinical teams of all par changes/suggestions.
Complete supply ordering and manage/monitor Implant/Tissue management.
Oversee receiving issue resolution, exception management, and product returns management.
Participate in physical inventory.
Achieve quality and safety expectations, including auditing inventory locations for regulatory compliance such as cleanliness, manufacturer recalls, organization, expired supplies, ceiling heights, and supplies put away in the correct locations.
Ensure staff compliance with department, hospital, state, and federal regulations.
Train new hires.
