SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a Lead Material Support Technician to support an opportunity at Davis Monthan AFB. Position Overview Section The Lead Material Support Technician will accomplish depot material-control and supply functions as a Production Support Technician (PST) while providing limited lead-level coordination of the contractor workforce. The Lead will receive work requirements, coordinate assignments among contractor personnel based on individual skillsets and qualifications, monitor completion of assigned contract tasks, and communicate workload status and issues to Contractor management and appropriate Government personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in material control, supply, inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, aircraft maintenance support, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience using computerized logistics, inventory, or supply-management systems.
  • Ability to coordinate workloads and communicate effectively with team members, Contractor management, and Government personnel.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to research and resolve material and supply issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data and transaction accuracy.
  • Ability to understand and follow Air Force, DoD, safety, environmental, and supply procedures.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting U.S. Air Force, DoD, aerospace, aviation, aircraft maintenance, depot, or military logistics operations.
  • Experience with MAXIMO, Impresa, ILS-S, EESOH-MIS, D043, Fed LOG, Web FLIS, ETIMS, BLADE, or AFSCDB.
  • Prior lead, team-lead, coordinator, or senior technician experience.
  • Experience coordinating contractor personnel or production-support teams.
  • Familiarity with Air Force material-management and supply procedures.
  • Experience with hazardous-material management and tracking.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance supply, bench stock, shop stock, operating stock, DIFM, MICAP, or depot material-control operations.
  • Experience conducting procurement research and identifying alternative sources or substitute parts.

Responsibilities

  • Receive contractor workload requirements and coordinate the assignment of tasks among qualified contractor personnel.
  • Assign work based on employee skillsets, qualifications, certifications, training, workload, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor contractor task completion to help ensure assigned work is completed accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Identify workload concerns, resource constraints, scheduling issues, and potential delays.
  • Coordinate with Contractor management regarding workload priorities and staffing requirements.
  • Ensure contractor personnel are available and appropriately qualified to perform assigned duties.
  • Help balance workload among contractor personnel to support efficient and timely contract performance.
  • Maintain awareness of contractor personnel qualifications, required certifications, and training applicable to assigned material-support functions.
  • Coordinate with Contractor management to identify training or certification requirements.
  • Help ensure personnel are assigned only to duties for which they are appropriately trained, qualified, and/or certified.
  • Identify potential qualification or training gaps and communicate them to the Contractor Project Manager (PM).
  • Support documentation and tracking of required contractor training and certifications.
  • Serve as a designated point of contact for routine coordination between Government supervision/management and the Contractor.
  • Receive and communicate contractor-related workload requirements and information.
  • Facilitate communication regarding task status, workload, operational issues, and contract performance.
  • Coordinate with Government personnel as necessary to clarify work requirements and resolve contractor performance issues.
  • Elevate issues requiring Contractor management decisions to the Contractor PM.
  • Maintain professional and effective working relationships with Government and Contractor personnel.
  • Monitor contractor personnel performance against assigned contract requirements and established workload expectations.
  • Ensure assigned contract tasks are progressing appropriately and identify potential performance issues.
  • Track completion of assigned work and communicate status to Contractor management.
  • Assist the Contractor PM with identifying recurring workload, staffing, training, or process issues.
  • Provide factual information to Contractor management regarding contractor task completion and performance.
  • Attend Government and Contractor meetings as required.
  • Represent the Contractor during applicable routine coordination meetings.
  • Communicate relevant information and action items to Contractor management and affected personnel.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities resulting from meetings and Government direction.
  • Escalate issues beyond the Lead's authority to the Contractor PM.
  • Support the Contractor's accident and incident reporting process.
  • Promptly communicate accidents, injuries, safety incidents, property damage, or other reportable events to Contractor management.
  • Assist with gathering factual information and documentation needed for Contractor reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with appropriate Contractor management personnel to ensure required reports are completed and submitted in accordance with established procedures.
  • Immediately elevate serious or potentially reportable incidents to the Contractor PM.
  • Perform depot material-control and supply functions supporting maintenance production shops.
  • Research material availability and parts supportability using Government-provided data.
  • Coordinate material requirements with Production Support personnel.
  • Research and identify customer component parts and available supply sources.
  • Support ordering, receiving, issuing, and accounting for required materials.
  • Perform applicable customer front-end JON edits and ensure material is properly charged to the appropriate JON.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels to support production.
  • Monitor supply and logistics systems to identify and resolve material issues.
  • Review and update back-order status and expected delivery dates.
  • Retrieve and deliver material to appropriate organizations.
  • Perform applicable IPV bench-stock turn-in transactions.
  • Perform DIFM turn-in operations and documentation.
  • Support FOM programs and Demand History Adjustments.
  • Process applicable ILS-S supply transactions, including issue requests, DIFM updates, item-record and part-number loads, MICAP verification, lateral shipments, and other standard transactions.
  • Utilize Government logistics research systems such as D043, Fed LOG, Web FLIS, ETIMS, BLADE, and AFSCDB Tableau as required.
  • Support hazardous-material operations using EESOH-MIS or the current authorized hazardous-material tracking system.
  • Research technical requirements and catalog databases to identify cost-effective substitutes and alternative products.
  • Support stock-level analysis based on usage, inventory, project requirements, seasonal demands, and customer needs.
  • Conduct procurement research for items unavailable through normal supply channels and provide purchasing options to authorized Government personnel.
  • Ensure material being turned into supply is properly prepared, tagged, identified, and documented.
