About The Position

DRS RADA Technologies is seeking a 2nd Shift Lead Material Handler to join their growing Germantown, Maryland team. This role is ideal for a collaborative, adaptable leader who can train and support team members, drive daily workflow, and respond effectively to evolving business needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years experience
  • May require forklift certification
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. to be eligible for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
  • Work under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that are frequently non-routine, adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs
  • May perform more detailed tasks requiring deeper knowledge and experience in the specified processes and procedures
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals
  • Able to effectively communicate with other functional departments, such as Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Sales departments
  • Resolve most questions and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher levels
  • Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues
  • Responsible for overseeing the proper opening of containers using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, or other hand tools
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
  • Load materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools
  • Convey materials to or from storage or worksites to designated areas to include the manufacturing floor by use of hand truck, electric dolly, Forklift, or other device
  • Count, weigh, and record materials moved or handled in an ERP system
  • Attach tags or labels to materials or otherwise mark information
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Work under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity
