About The Position

Provides leadership and direct supervision of lower classified personnel within the material distribution area applying a mastery of technical skills and knowledge to lead personnel who perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping, receiving, stocking and transportation duties using manual and computer generated documents and systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School or GED. If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • 5 year(s) Performing the type of work in the discipline of the work group where they will perform the duties of a Lead.
  • 1 year(s) Of the required 5 years experience in training, assigning and reviewing the work of lesser skilled stakeholders or have formal leadership assignments from another organization.
  • Certified in Powered Lift Truck Operations.
  • Must be proficient in the processes and procedures for the area over which supervision is exercised.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, orientation, training and assignment of work to assigned personnel in the performance of a combination of manual and clerical shipping, receiving, stocking and transportation duties using manual and computer generated documents and systems.
  • Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment using knowledge of shipping practices, procedures, rates, routes and available transportation.
  • Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, or work site.
  • Verifies incoming parts with packing slips, receives material into inspection and warehouse inventory, unpacks and checks for proper identification and inputs into the computer system as required.
  • Coordinates delivery of non-inventory products to the appropriate department.
  • Packs or unpacks items such as raw stock, assemblies, parts, material and other like items.
  • Labels all inventory items with the appropriate Company and/or customer item codes and purchase order numbers when applicable.
  • Coordinates with various departments, checking, storing, tracking, cycle counting inventory, receiving and shipping material to the proper internal/external areas and customers.
  • Kits work orders per pick lists, verifies proper identification, lot numbers, quantities, and monitors usage trends on items including stock outs and irregular consumption of items.
  • Perform daily cycle counts as directed.
  • Resolves and expedites discrepancies in the warehouse, shipping and receiving, including, but not limited to interpreting MRP, packing list, freight bills and shipment pickup through services such as FedEx Powership and UPS Teleship.
  • Fabricates wooden crates or cardboard boxes, calculates measurement specifications for shipping materials, prepares materials for shipment by wrapping/packing parts and labeling boxes.
  • Operates forklifts, trucks, pallet jacks and other such devices in a safe manner.
  • Keeps work areas clean and ensures the timely processing of paperwork and materal.
  • Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
