About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a talented Lead Marketing Data Scientist to join our growing Marketing Analytics team within Consumer Banking and Lending (CBL). In this highly visible role, you will help shape and optimize customer marketing strategies across a broad portfolio of acquisition, engagement, onboarding, and relationship growth campaigns. You will partner closely with marketing leaders, campaign managers, strategy teams, and analytics partners to evaluate campaign effectiveness, identify growth opportunities, and influence future marketing investments. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and data science capabilities with a passion for marketing performance measurement. You will leverage customer, campaign, and behavioral data to uncover actionable insights, evaluate marketing effectiveness, improve audience targeting, and drive data-informed decisions that enhance customer engagement and business growth. Your work will directly influence how Wells Fargo designs, measures, and optimizes marketing programs across multiple channels and customer journeys.

Requirements

5+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science

5+ years of marketing analytics, campaign measurement, customer analytics, marketing science, or related analytical experience supporting marketing organizations
Experience measuring and optimizing customer acquisition, engagement, retention, or cross-sell marketing programs
Experience with campaign testing, incrementality measurement, attribution, marketing ROI, or audience targeting strategies
Proficiency in SQL, Python / R, and other programming languages
Proficiency in Data visualization preferably with Power BI
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

Lead measurement and optimization efforts for customer marketing campaigns, providing insights that improve acquisition, engagement, retention, and relationship growth outcomes.
Partner with marketing stakeholders to define campaign objectives, success metrics, and measurement strategies that support business goals and marketing priorities.
Develop and deliver in-flight and post-campaign analyses that identify optimization opportunities and inform future marketing investments.
Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing tactics, channels, audience strategies, offers, and customer experiences through testing, experimentation, and performance measurement.
Apply advanced analytics, statistical techniques, and data science methodologies to understand customer behavior, marketing performance, and campaign effectiveness.
Design and execute test-and-learn frameworks, including A/B testing, champion/challenger testing, and incrementality measurement, to drive continuous improvement in marketing outcomes.
Translate complex analytical findings into clear business recommendations and compelling stories for marketing leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
Analyze large-scale customer, campaign, digital engagement, and transactional datasets to identify actionable opportunities for segmentation, targeting, personalization, and growth.
Build reporting, dashboards, and measurement frameworks that provide timely visibility into campaign performance and key marketing KPIs.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Marketing, Strategy, Product, Finance, Risk, and Technology to develop data-driven recommendations that improve marketing effectiveness and customer experience.
Influence marketing strategy by identifying trends, customer insights, and optimization opportunities that support long-term business growth.
Mentor analysts and contribute to the advancement of marketing analytics best practices, measurement standards, and analytic capabilities across the organization.
