About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Maritime Licensing Consultant to oversee and manage complex maritime credentialing and regulatory compliance processes. This role is responsible for guiding clients and internal teams through licensing requirements, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate brings deep industry expertise, leadership capability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced maritime environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in maritime licensing, credentialing, or regulatory compliance
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) licensing processes and/or international maritime regulations (STCW)
  • Proven leadership or team management experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant compliance or documentation systems

Nice To Haves

  • USCG experience
  • Familiarity with offshore or energy sector operations
  • Experience working with international licensing frameworks (Marshall Islands and Liberia)

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end maritime licensing and credentialing processes, including applications, renewals, upgrades, and audits
  • Interpret and apply relevant maritime regulations (e.g., USCG, STCW, and international standards)
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for licensing compliance and regulatory changes
  • Advise clients on best practices, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Review and validate documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and third-party organizations as needed
  • Develop and refine internal processes to improve efficiency and service delivery
  • Mentor and support junior consultants, providing guidance and quality oversight
  • Track regulatory updates and communicate impacts to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain detailed records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
