About The Position

Join a team that applies its technical expertise and knowledge to ensure products are produced with high quality and efficiency. You will be a technical expert with responsibility for product and process applications. You will ensure product integrity manufacturing output and continuous improvements working with labs and factory operations. Our team develops new processes, refines existing processes, and defines process equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of Ring Laser Gyroscope and MEMS based inertial sensors and IMUs. You will influence the planning, designing, and testing of manufacturing engineering processes. You will determine parts and tools needed by the team to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification, for both existing and new processes/product technologies. You will maximize efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Support daily production activities and drive producibility improvement projects in a challenging environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM field
  • At least 8 years experience
  • Quickly and accurately identifying subtle interrelationships and patterns among a variety of problems and issues (process and data correlation of cause/effect across value stream).
  • Use statistical methods and queries to spot trends, patterns, and anomalies in complex datasets.
  • Comfortable with basic statistics, problem-solving, and data governance concepts.
  • Run root-cause analysis and fix issues when manufacturing systems or products fail or underperform.
  • Product or process engineering experience.
  • Ability to balance priorities in daily tasks and strategic projects.
  • Hands on work ethic.
  • Initiative and ownership of responsibilities and actions.
  • Ability to partner and collaborate well with team members.
  • Conveying information with clarity and directness, ensuring the message is understood across diverse teams.
  • RCCA / Lean / Six Sigma

Responsibilities

  • Provide test and manufacturing support for RLG and MEMS based inertial measurement units (IMUs).
  • Perform yield and performance data analysis to monitor process capability and product health trends.
  • Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
  • Develop improvements in product design and in the manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle time reductions.
  • Assist development of new products.
  • Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
  • Facilitate a self-driven work force culture to achieve RTY, BIQ, COPQ, and other SQDIC goals.

  • Lead and coach a team of peers through project planning tools, and DMAIC toolsets such as fault tree, FMEA, and other data review and change management.
