About The Position

This position involves leading the daily operations of assigned department's imaging services, ensuring quality imaging, patient care, and efficient workflow. The Lead Mammography Technologist will monitor patient documentation for accuracy and completeness, oversee quality control testing, and manage equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. This role serves as a resource for department staff and other team members, and is responsible for staff orientation, training, and coaching, with input into performance evaluations. The technologist will accurately position patients, select appropriate technical parameters, and ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards. Additionally, they will ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history, and assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department environment.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of assigned department's imaging services.
  • Ensure quality imaging, patient care and work flow.
  • Monitor patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy.
  • Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting.
  • Serve as a resource to department staff as well as other members of the team as needed.
  • Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching. Provide input to staff performance evaluations.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
