The role focuses on working with the adult population and operates on a Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM shift.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a variety of technical procedures to ensure that technologists utilize good independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
  • Assumes responsibility for designated areas, personnel, and procedures as required.
  • Is accountable for the delivery of efficient, high-quality services to patients, physicians, and all customers, while providing supervision to technical personnel to perform high-quality exams within the protocols and guidelines set by the Department of Imaging Services.
  • Outlines work assignments at the commencement of the shift for all technologists, including maintaining and stocking supplies, rooms, and equipment, or other assigned duties.
  • Is responsible for the protection and safety of themselves, patients, and co-workers.
  • Directly responsible for assisting in evaluating all technical personnel and student radiographers within the department.
  • Participates in on-call coverage for the modality as part of the essential job requirements.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of appropriate rules and regulations as they apply to the incumbent's department and work areas.
  • Analyzes rules and regulations for unusual situations and understands the interrelationship and implication of various rules and regulations in other areas of the department.
  • May represent the company at regional industry organization meetings for discussing rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in applying anatomy and physiology knowledge in challenging and complex situations.
