About The Position

Founded in 1950, Dignity Health - Sequoia Hospital is a 208-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Redwood City, California. It was recently named a Leapfrog 2025 Top General Hospital. As a Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be crucial in producing diagnostic images for accurate diagnosis and patient management. The role involves performing various imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while ensuring a positive patient experience. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of diagnostic imaging's importance, including expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results for timely and accurate diagnoses.

Requirements

  • Minimum 0.8 FTE Radiologic Technologist III or greater
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years relevant experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Must have license/certification in the Modality of the Section they are assigned to, upon hire
  • Must have satisfactorily completed formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school, upon hire
  • Medical Radiographer: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
  • Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously.
  • Refers to each individual using two patient identifiers or by name when appropriate.
  • Screens individuals by requesting to see identification or visitor pass.
  • Consistently produces quality images within hospital guidelines, protocols, and department standards (i.e. patient safety, repeat rate, exam protocols, exam processing, and other quality metrics).
  • Accurately completes documentation according to hospital and department guidelines, including exam performed, billing, exam labeling, computer entry, contrast orders, etc.
  • Performs other clerical duties as necessary.
  • Maintains clinical competency assuming responsibility for upgrading skills through participation in inservice education and other continuing education activities.
  • Participates in the training of departmental personnel and students.
  • Assists MD and other staff in preparing for and performing procedures consistently following sterile technique, infection control guidelines and department standards.
  • Evaluates personal and departmental work volume and flow to ensure efficient departmental patient care.
  • Prioritizes work according to urgency and resources.
  • Responds effectively in emergency situations.
  • May act as supervisor in absence of department supervisor
