About The Position

This full-time, non-exempt position in the Radiology Diagnostic Department is responsible for leading or coordinating shift operations, resources, and staff. The Lead Mammographer promotes teamwork and customer service, assists with staff evaluations and discipline, and performs specialized radiographic imaging procedures. The role also involves direct patient care, ensuring quality and safety, and adherence to local and federal regulations. The position is located in West Town, Chicago, with convenient access to public transportation and parking.

Requirements

Licensure and/or fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
Current ARRT certification.
Advanced certification in the field of Mammography.
Current experience as a radiology technologist.
Strong verbal, written, and communication skills.
Current BCLS (AHA) certification.
Comprehensive Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulatory standards.
Ability to travel to all imaging facilities both regularly and without notice.
Experience in Hospital Information Services (HIS)/Radiology Information System (RIS).

Responsibilities

Leads or coordinates shift operations of assigned activities, resources, and/or staff.
Supervises staff in the absence of manager/director.
Promotes teamwork and good customer service.
Assists in annual evaluations and staff discipline.
Actively participates in the performance of specialized radiographic imaging procedures which assist the radiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorders.
Participates in direct patient care, facility quality and safety initiatives as well as local and federal regulations.
Assist with complex and sensitive patient and patient family issues.
Ensures quality and safe delivery of care to patients of all ages.
