The vacancy is for one (1) full-time position. All new hires will begin at Step 1 ($31.56 per hour). Employees receive an annual 5% step increase until reaching the top step of $42.30 per hour, contingent upon satisfactory performance. Under supervision, to perform more complex, difficult and skilled routine manual work in the maintenance, construction and repair of the City's wastewater (sewer), lead, plan, train and review the work staff is responsible for performing; verify the work of assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specifications; perform lockout and tag out safety procedures; lead, manage, review and verify the work of assigned City contractors; respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; work with residents to minimize impact of projects on citizen's properties; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner; estimate time, materials and equipment required for jobs assigned; requisition materials as required; operate a variety of maintenance and repair tools and equipment; perform a variety of maintenance tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility; provide training to lower level personnel; may act as the division supervisor; may be required to routinely plan and coordinate work assignments for projects; perform other duties as assigned.
