About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee the safe, reliable operation of our manufacturing facility and active construction yard assets. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for heavy-duty diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and rapid repair of facility high-voltage electrical, plumbing, and specialized manufacturing equipment. As a Lead Maintenance Technician, you will direct equipment installations, coordinate with external contractors, manage supply inventories via digital systems, and enforce rigorous industrial safety protocols to minimize production downtime.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of facilities maintenance experience specifically within a manufacturing, heavy industrial, or construction environment.
  • Proven previous leadership experience (such as serving as a lead person, crew leader, or foreman) to successfully direct contractor workflows and manage team dynamics.
  • Proficient with PCs and Windows software; strong database experience is highly preferred.
  • Outstanding multi-tasking, interpersonal, and organizational skills to manage competing priorities on a fast-paced fabrication floor.
  • Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal, to read industrial blueprints and document safety logs.
  • Physical ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments, lift 60+ lbs, and work comfortably at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Preferred experience Advanced expertise in 3-phase electrical systems, motor controls, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Able to read and interpret complex blueprints, industrial schematics, and equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Keep workers actively informed regarding company plans, shift goals, and updated operational policies.
  • Recommend top performers for wage increases, awards, or promotions. Manage poor performance directly by outlining clear expectations, counseling workers on correct methods, issuing warnings, or recommending formal disciplinary actions.
  • Meet with your supervisor on a regular basis to report operational problems, discuss potential solutions, and align departmental goals.
  • Work closely with a variety of third-party onsite contractors to safely maintain the facility while driving both major repair and structural improvement projects.
  • Troubleshoot and repair a diverse mix of automated and manual manufacturing equipment.
  • Handle heavy-duty maintenance and diagnostics on key production assets including Industrial Welding Equipment and Abrasive Blasting Equipment.
  • Assist local production and manufacturing engineers directly with process optimizations and machinery infrastructure improvements.
  • Keep production-critical facilities equipment and systems operating at peak efficiency, specifically managing commercial HVAC units, electrical distribution systems, and general site plumbing.
  • Test, maintain, and rapidly repair facility fire suppression and fire detection systems along with various mechanical devices used throughout the premises.
  • Execute both emergency reactive repairs and daily preventative maintenance routines on any machine or infrastructure asset across the facility.
  • Proficiently utilize a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical measuring instruments to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Assist with the upkeep, inspection, and minor repair coordination of staging area machinery and structural construction yard assets.
  • Track equipment maintenance logs, monitor spare parts stock, and log all work orders using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in alignment with ISO 9000 Quality System requirements.
