Assists the Maintenance supervisor in daily maintenance activities. Provides direction and training for work to employees in positions of lesser responsibility. Responsible for the safety and quality of work while providing technical direction for day to day activities. Oversees and assists the troubleshooting and repair of electrical breakdowns such as PLC’s, heat controllers, counters, AC and DC drives and inverters including programming. Participates in the design, construction, and installation of new equipment, including electrical components. Train new personnel. Maintain a working knowledge of all plant operating systems and readily access records of diagrams & schematics. Troubleshoot, repair and correct mechanical, electrical and process problems associated with production equipment to ensure proper operation. Provide 24/7 technical support for production. Ability to assemble, disassemble, and convert/upgrade production lines or support equipment as required for repairs, upgrades and/or installations. Regularly inspect production lines and support equipment and perform necessary preventive maintenance routines (such as filter changes, oil changes, water on closed loop cooling systems). Ability to identify and work with contractors to repair, install, remove, and/or upgrade equipment. Maintains a safe working environment; reports unsafe conditions to management. Ability to work overtime as required. Rotates on-call schedule with maintenance staff. Orders parts as needed for service. Other duties as assigned or requested. Will be assigned to rotating plant production shift or day shift as needed to maintain production.
