About The Position

Deco at 5211 is a 306-unit luxury community in Chamblee, GA, offering residents access to amenities such as a state-of-the-art fitness center and spa, a pet park, and rooftop lounge. Northland is seeking an experienced and proactive Lead Maintenance Technician to supervise the maintenance team, oversee work orders and repairs, and prioritize and schedule projects and staff for timely completion. This role involves completing maintenance service requests and work orders, including HVAC, electrical, pool maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and housekeeping. The Lead Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for turning vacant apartments efficiently and safely, while managing budget considerations. Maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service with residents, vendors, and guests is essential. The role requires handling after-hours emergency calls and being on-call, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and painting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and vendors.
  • Must possess own hand tools.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekend, and holiday shifts as part of the on-call responsibility.
  • Travel may be required to assist other properties as needed, or to attend training classes.

  • Prior experience managing a team is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the maintenance team.
  • Oversee work orders and repairs at the community.
  • Prioritize and schedule projects and staff for timely completion.
  • Complete maintenance service requests and work orders including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, pool maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and housekeeping items.
  • Complete work orders and turn vacant apartments for move in, in a timely and efficient manner, while working safely, and keeping an eye on budget.
  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism and customer service to residents, vendors, and guests.
  • Handle after-hours emergency calls and be on-call, as needed, including nights and weekends.
