About The Position

Property Engineer Leads are Team Captains, overseeing the largest in-house labor pool, and holding their team accountable to nothing less than excellent every single day. They lead ultra-productive teams to deliver exceptional resident experience day in and day out, never dropping the ball. They are exceptionally talented and trained in every aspect of the Property Engineer role, capable of completing a wide array of tasks including: service resident inbounds, complete rent ready checks, meet with HUD inspectors, assist on set outs, scope turns etc. A key differentiator for Captains is their training-first mindset; they have the ability to train new hires and elevate the quality of the team as a whole, not just deliver individual results. PE Leads bring out the best in their teams by ensuring each and every Property Engineer is rigorously trained and vetted before they are certified. Whether training Property Engineers on various tasks, shadowing them for performance evaluation, or proposing process changes, PE Leads excel at bringing the most out of their teams.

Requirements

A strong background in construction, renovation, or maintenance: 7+ years of renovation, turn, or maintenance experience, including 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience working on homes.
A strong background of people management: 5+ years of experience managing a team of no less than 5 individual contributors.

Responsibilities

Identify gaps that stifle team member performance, and work with those individuals to improve their outcomes.
Personally train and put a stamp of approval on every new hire.
Work directly with the GM to review market's task assignments in the morning, and again mid-day to ensure tasks are assigned efficiently and to plug gaps where needed to ensure no work orders go un-addressed.
When emergencies happen, work closely with Dispatchers and the GM to quickly identify the most expedient path to solve the emergency.
Lead the charge to ensure emergencies are resolved in a timely manner when Property Engineers are deemed the best path.
Assist in the interview process (Home Walk Evaluations).
