Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick, Personal) Tuition Reimbursement Advancement Opportunities (as soon as 6 months) Employee Referral Bonus Program Annual Performance Reviews Employee Discount Program JOB SUMMARY: The Lead Mechanic provides hands-on technical leadership and day-to-day support to the Maintenance team at our Spring Hill, FL facility. This role works alongside other mechanics to help ensure manufacturing equipment is safe, reliable, and operational while supporting production needs and our commitment to the customer. The Lead Mechanic partners closely with Operations Leaders and Maintenance leadership to coordinate daily priorities, provide technical guidance, support training and development, troubleshoot equipment issues, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age or older.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Floor/Shop Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar manufacturing maintenance role.
  • Strong working knowledge of print machines, assembly equipment, machine tool operations, tool room practices, and molding equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and projects.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with CADD software preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, Operations, Engineering, and leadership.
  • Must have or be willing to complete required training and licensing to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and work comfortably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with equipment maintenance, including lifting as required.
  • Dependable and motivated attitude with a commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ownership, accountability, and a strong sense of urgency are critical for success in this role.

Nice To Haves

  • 2–3 years of experience providing technical leadership, training, coaching, or guidance to other mechanics preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and prioritization of daily maintenance activities, projects, and equipment needs.
  • Work hands-on alongside mechanics to perform machine maintenance, repairs, improvements, changeovers, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance, coaching, and support to other mechanics.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to identify equipment issues and support effective solutions.
  • Help ensure maintenance activities support equipment reliability, on-time delivery, quality, productivity, and reduced downtime and scrap.
  • Assist in coordinating, maintaining, and communicating preventive maintenance schedules and records.
  • Partner with Operations and other departments to identify and implement equipment and process improvements.
  • Research and recommend new technologies, tools, or methods to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, safety, and reduce scrap.
  • Create and maintain training documentation, maintenance procedures, and process documentation.
  • Train and support employees on equipment, maintenance processes, troubleshooting techniques, and safe work practices.
  • Monitor critical spare parts, perishable tooling, maintenance supplies, and safety equipment and communicate needs to Maintenance leadership.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Tool Makers, Molding Mechanics, Operations, and other departments to diagnose equipment problems and develop solutions.
  • Communicate equipment concerns, maintenance risks, project status, and resource needs to appropriate leadership.
  • Promote and support a safe work environment, including proper PPE usage and safe work habits.
  • Lead by example and promote teamwork, accountability, and positive communication across departments and shifts.
  • Support consistent adherence to Koozie Group policies, procedures, and workplace expectations.
  • Escalate employee concerns or matters requiring formal performance management or corrective action to the appropriate Supervisor or Manager.
  • Consistently demonstrate Koozie Group People Powers through professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and positive communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
