About The Position

This role is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and implementing repairs and improvements on equipment and facilities. The Lead Maintenance Staff may also assist in training and supervising other maintenance staff. Key duties include performing routine electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and HVAC system repairs. The position requires knowledge of EMS and CMMS systems, the ability to read various technical drawings, and perform locksmithing. Additionally, the role involves maintaining pool equipment, steam rooms, saunas, and hot tubs, conducting safety inspections, assisting the Facility Director with priorities and problem-solving, and notifying directors of major repair needs. The role also includes responding to emergencies, managing material purchasing and inventory, tracking operating expenses, maintaining the facility's appearance, completing repair requests promptly, and performing upkeep of grounds and buildings. Other duties as assigned by a supervisor are also part of this role.

Requirements

8 years of related experience
Pool Certification required (Licensed must be obtain within 60 days of hire date, if applicant does not have the license currently)
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, pool maintenance
At least 18 years of age
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date
Computer skills and experience with Google Docs, Outlook, Microsoft

Nice To Haves

Certification(s) Not required but preferred: Journeyman certification or engineering classes, CFC Universal Certification, NFPA Certification, L License, High Rise Fire Life Safety Certification
Previous experience with diverse populations preferred

Responsibilities

Identify, troubleshoot, and implement repairs and improvements on equipment and facility.
Assist in training and supervision of maintenance staff.
Provide routine electrical, plumbing, painting and carpentry repairs.
Provide routine service and repairs for HVAC systems, pumps, fans, and filters.
Perform locksmithing and keying for the facility.
Provide maintenance and service of pool equipment, steam room, sauna room and hot tubs.
Perform and document routine inspections for safety.
Provide assistance to the Facility Director to set priorities and solve identified problems.
Notify Facilities and Executive Director of any maintenance in the facility that requires major repair.
Respond to emergencies as required to minimize any interruptions of YMCA programs and services.
Provide material purchasing, sorting, organizing, and salvaging.
Track and maintain the operating expenses for facility.
Maintain overall interior/exterior appearance of facility.
Complete repair requests in a timely manner.
Perform upkeep of grounds and buildings to include lawn mowing, shoveling, raking, painting and other maintenance as required.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
