This role is for a Lead Mainframe Security Admin, with a hybrid work model based in Kansas City, MO. Requirements

  • Proficiency with mainframe security software (RACF or Top Secret).
  • Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and other mainframe tools.
  • Experience with security auditing, vulnerability assessments, and threat analysis.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like REXX for automation.
  • Strong ability to analyze security risks and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Ability to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively with other teams and influence others.
  • Understanding of compliance standards and audit processes.
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain mainframe security policies in a Top Secret and RACF environment.
  • Create, update, and manage user IDs, passwords, and access rules to ensure users only have access to necessary data and resources.
  • Monitor system security, review security logs, and perform regular security audits to detect and report violations and vulnerabilities.
  • Respond to security incidents and perform forensic analysis to understand and mitigate threats.
  • Ensure the mainframe environment complies with internal security policies and external regulations.
  • Work with application developers, other IT teams, and compliance officers to support application onboarding, resolve security issues, and implement security requirements.
  • Develop and use scripts (like REXX) to automate security tasks and improve efficiency.
