•$29 - $34

About The Position

The Lead Machine Builder combines hands-on machine-building craftsmanship with floor leadership. This role coordinates teams of builders on larger projects, owns build schedules and quality outcomes, and serves as the first escalation point for build-floor issues. The Lead Machine Builder partners closely with the Build Manager on capacity planning and continuous improvement of build practices. Approximately one third to one half of the role is hands-on building and debugging, with the remainder devoted to coordination, planning, mentoring, and leadership. The position reports directly to the Build Manager. The role builds advanced mechanical subsystems and custom automation machinery, leads mechanical debugging and root-cause analysis, reviews and approves build quality, and collaborates with engineering, controls, and project-management teams to deliver complete automation solutions. It includes travel to customer sites for installation support, including domestic and international destinations. Axis Automation expects the Lead Machine Builder to actively embody and uphold its ten Operating Principles. Builders use their own tools and toolboxes; Axis provides hand tools, specialty tools, and shop equipment. The position pays $29.00–$34.00 per hour, with the opportunity for overtime and travel pay. Axis offers a comprehensive benefits package with no waiting period.
