About The Position

This position performs all levels of calibrations, tests, analysis and preparatory tasks as assigned to a given discipline(s). Develops new methodologies and procedures and provides direction to other technicians. This position requires access to Constellation Nuclear Clean Energy Centers including security requirements associated with such access. This position requires a self-directed individual ready to accept a leadership role. Leadership will address a business need that includes a technical expertise and a business process expertise.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline OR 60 credits towards a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline OR Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) training OR High school diploma/GED with 8 years of experience in chemical, electrical, mechanical or metallurgical testing, analysis or calibrations or basic engineering principles
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

  • Familiar with Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes.
  • Experience with calibration formats and associated data manipulation.
  • Ability to create, edit, and review technical documentation.
  • Understanding and implementation of measurement uncertainty analysis.
  • Experience with auditing and ability to obtain Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Familiar with ISO 17025 Accredited program management.
  • Understanding and experience with out of tolerance reports for laboratory standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership.
  • Ability to train and mentor.
  • Understanding of inter-laboratory comparisons and proficiency testing programs.
  • Experience with the corrective action process.
  • Ability to assume responsibilities of Manager Quality Integration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex calibrations, tests and analysis assigned to the technician working team.
  • Conducts independent field investigations.
  • Plans/executes on-site.
  • Performs lead role in specific laboratory disciplines.
  • Interacts with vendors/clients on technical problems.
  • Responsible for determining test methods to be used for new equipment when assigned or calibration formats and procedures.
  • May develop equipment and material specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of calibration, testing and analytical work performed including required traceability on equipment utilized.
  • Computes, analyzes and records test data.
  • Develop and coordinates software programs to enhance and support discipline functions including automated calibration, data acquisition and electronic calibration records.
  • Perform statistical measurements and uncertainty analysis
  • The position requires certification to ANSI N45.2.6 Level 3 requirements.
  • All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Department duty coverage and/or call out and positions outside of department in support of emergent activities etc.)
