About The Position

Lab Science Saves Lives: Lab Technologists Make It Possible. The full-time Lead Technologist, Nightshift position is needed to serve as a lead generalist for the laboratories. This position will perform testing and help oversee operations between the Blood Bank, Chemistry and Hematology, and Microbiology departments at night. Lead the flow process of the Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Microbiology departments. This includes running Quality Control, calibration of instruments and performing patient testing within the department that includes not only automated but several manual tests as well. Work to help resolve patient testing issues, as well as help oversee instrument troubleshooting issues. Monitor and work with the Supervisor to make sure supplies do not run out and prevent them from being able to perform patient testing. This is a full-time, Night shift position, working 12:00am - 8:00am with rotating weekends and holidays. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from New York Education Department
  • Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master’s degree or 1 years of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science
  • Must live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Responsibilities
