About The Position

Helix Electric, a leading electrical contracting company founded in 1985, is seeking a dynamic State Certified Lead Journeyman Electrician. The successful candidate will be part of a production-driven team, responsible for electrical installations and troubleshooting in commercial settings. This role requires a proven leader capable of supervising a crew and ensuring safe, on-schedule, and within-budget project delivery.

Requirements

State Journeyman Electrician Certification (required in states where mandated, highly desirable elsewhere).
Proven experience as a lead electrician capable of supervising a crew of 5-15.
Proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
Excellent working knowledge of the Building Codes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with manpower projects.
Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings.
Ability to perform essential job functions including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, routinely lifting heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds, and pushing/pulling objects.
Ability to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with overtime and night shifts as required.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves) and respirator when required.

Experience with Procore/ACC & Autodesk.

Responsibilities

Supervising a crew of 5-15 electricians.
Performing assembly, installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings.
Preparing work areas for equipment installation.
Installing electrical components and connecting wiring and equipment according to code and job specifications.
Operating equipment only if trained and certified (e.g., powder-activated tools, JLG lifts).
Setting up and operating tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, and cable vacuum systems.
Reading blueprints and electrical drawings and installing as specified.
Verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances per drawings or plans.
Securing and locking up equipment after use.
Overseeing PTPs (Project Task Plans) and timecards.
