About The Position

Keeps premises of buildings in clean and orderly condition. Serves as the first point of contact for customers and/or vendors when a supervisor or site manager is not available.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.
  • Calls in repair requests for equipment as needed.
  • Orders janitorial chemicals, consumables, paper products, etc.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Dusts furniture and equipment.
  • Polishes metalwork.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies.
  • Replaces light bulbs.
  • Cuts and trims grass, and shovels snow.
  • Delivers messages.
  • Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
  • Sets up tables and chairs in auditorium or hall.
  • Stacks and moves pallets as needed.
  • Breaks down cardboard and pallets.
  • Performs ordering of supplies.
  • Conducts quality audits.
  • Acts as the first line of communication with customers onsite.
  • Serves as the point of contact for vendor services.
  • Responsible for safety audits and safety observations.
