About The Position

Responsible for effecting ongoing quality, productivity and efficiency in the provision of pharmaceutical services to patients requiring acute care; Oversight and implementation of intravenous processes; Ensures compliance with regulations, policies and procedures, and USP 797 guidelines; Ensures the use of sterile acts of preparation during the intravenous compounding process; Interprets and evaluates physician orders in order to prepare and dispense appropriate medications to patients at Holy Cross Hospital. Manages drug therapy of patients. Reviews, accesses and maintains patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions and therapeutic duplication to provide a consistent quality of patient care and appropriate drug therapy. Provides information to physicians, nurses, and patients. May assist in developing competencies for the department. Assists in the supervision of pharmacy technicians in distributive functions and departmental operations under the direction of the pharmacy operations manager. Performance demonstrates efforts to improve patient satisfaction, lower costs and improve quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Active Maryland Pharmacy Licensure
  • Active BLS and ACLS Certification
