About The Position

Rocketdyne is seeking a Lead, IT Infrastructure and Security Project/Portfolio Manager to lead an assigned IT program and its projects from planning through closure. The role coordinates cross-functional teams, dependencies, budgets, risks, and business outcomes. During delivery, the manager establishes the planning and governance foundations for an ongoing technology portfolio. Following formal program closure and an approved transfer of responsibilities, the position transitions to IT Portfolio Manager, aligning investments, programs, projects, and related operational activities with business and IT strategy. The role specializes in infrastructure, operations, and security initiatives, including infrastructure, cloud, network, operational, and cybersecurity work such as migrations, cutovers, recovery, and service readiness. It balances lifecycle renewal, sustainment, resilience, and security investments using service criticality, reliability, risk reduction, and total cost of ownership. The manager maintains integrated plans, roadmaps, budgets, resource forecasts, milestones, and success criteria; coordinates project managers, technical teams, sponsors, and service owners; manages delivery performance, risks, issues, and changes; and coordinates security, privacy, compliance, technical reviews, adoption, training, operational readiness, and support handoffs. The position establishes portfolio management foundations, including a charter, management plan, intake, prioritization, governance, and reporting processes for approval. It partners with Service Area Owners to identify modernization, sustainment, technical debt, security, capability, funding, and resource needs, and transfers program knowledge, financials, dependencies, risks, and benefits tracking during closure and transition. As IT Portfolio Manager, the role translates strategy into a prioritized portfolio, evaluates investments, balances demand with capacity and operational commitments, manages budgets and forecasts, monitors aggregate performance and risks, and supports executive engagement, transparent decisions, and continuous optimization.
