About The Position

This position will serve as a project manager and site owner for defined IT and OT system implementation, training, support, and maintenance. The critical (required to run 24/7/365) IT and OT Systems at the Longmont Uncrustables Site will have HP Servers, running Microsoft Server in a VMware environment hosting Proficy MES and FactoryTalk View SE application software. This person will translate requirements from an operational business perspective into a form that can be understood and acted on by Process Engineers, Controls Engineers, Quality, and the Corporate Information Services organization tasked with building the solution. They will act as champions to ensure delivered solutions meet the functional design, operational business need, and project timeline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • 5 years of relevant work experience required

  • Mechanical and electrical experience in food manufacturing is preferred
  • Experience in a project management role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead all IT operations at the Longmont, Colorado Uncrustables Site
  • Work with the site Controls and Automation Manager to develop control and information system standards and ensure application of the standards.
  • Work with Tech Services, Quality, Logistics, SQMS, and Operations departments to identify losses, and develop plans and strategies to eliminate them, in the areas of safety, quality, reliability and cost.
  • Technical subject matter expert on multiple pieces of equipment and IT systems and ensures the training of others with regards to control and operational systems.
  • Serves as project manager for initiatives ranging from E&I focused projects, IS focused projects, or complete capital projects.
  • Owns and provides leadership for the plant’s MES system, database, and application standards.
  • Supports the Process Engineers with developing/validating applications and system usage.
  • Owns the Longmont network infrastructure and IP address allocation system.
  • Leads development of network topology and switch configuration standards and rolls these out to the plant.
  • Owns the health of the Longmont network and is the liaison with the Corporate IT Infrastructure Team for ongoing support and maintenance.
  • Trains and develops plant resources on the network technologies.
  • Owns the Longmont server and VMware infrastructure.
  • Is the liaison with the Corporate IT teams to develop hardware standards, migration plans and implementing system improvements.
  • In conjunction with Corporate IT conducts server and VMware performance monitoring to resolve abnormalities as they occur.
  • Owns the Longmont business and controls software systems.
  • Is the liaison with the Corporate IT team for regular business software updates, security monitoring, system backups and Windows updates/patches.
  • Is the liaison with the Plant Controls Engineers and lead the FactoryTalk software migration plans and software updates.
  • Plant leader for the business and controls IT security policy.
  • Owns documenting and renewing the Longmont IT security policy and ensuring adherence to the policy.
  • Manager for the IT Support Analyst Role.
  • Owns and manages the day-to-day operation of the following systems: wireless network, camera system, security badge system, lighting server, phone system, IDFs/MDFs and IS support requests.
  • Maintain and update plant network drawings and support the maintaining and updating of electrical drawings.
  • Provide expertise in the design and implementation of machine control and process automation applications, such as control strategies and HMI design.
  • Lead electrical, controls, and IS contractors on projects throughout the plant.
