About The Position

This role will provide research & due diligence across Lincoln’s manager-of-managers platform, with an emphasis on fixed income and international equity strategies. They will provide investment expertise and insight regarding the selection, oversight and placement of asset management solutions across Lincoln's product lines.

Requirements

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) (Minimum Required).
  • 5+ Years of experience in manager/fund research & analysis in fixed income, global/international equities, or US equities.
  • Experience in mutual funds.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fund industry research and analytical tools (Morningstar Direct, eVestment, or other similar tools).
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with ability to illustrate complicated information succinctly in slides and charts for the benefit of senior management.
  • Demonstrated strength in written and oral communication. Ability to communicate investment concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate strong relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. senior management, peers, and business lines).

Nice To Haves

  • CFA or Progress towards CFA or other professional designations, or willingness to pursue professional designations.
  • Familiarity with portfolio construction, asset allocation, modern portfolio theory, risk management and hedging.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets and industry trends.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations. Work hard and strive for excellence.
  • Familiar with AI tools (Copilot / Claude).

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a key resource in the selection and oversight of new and existing investment options offered in Lincoln variable life, variable annuity and retirement products.
  • Oversees the screening and ongoing evaluation process for new and existing investment options.
  • Presents research findings and performance results to internal stakeholders and potentially a broader group of constituents, such as the LVIP Board of Trustees.
  • Collaborates with portfolio management teams to provide insight/analysis on the optimal use of multi-asset class investment options within broadly diversified portfolios.
  • Conducts regular on-site due diligence visits with investment managers, usually alongside Portfolio Managers, in the selection and ongoing evaluation process to ensure that funds are managed in accordance with the stated investment policies.
  • Recommends changes and/or actions, as appropriate, to further the objectives of investment committee(s) and Lincoln’s product lines.
  • Provides competitive intelligence, including performing complex analysis and comparisons on an ongoing basis.
  • Provides investment research subject matter expertise to various thought leadership research projects.
  • Supports relationships with external consultants, asset allocation providers and research firms (e.g. Morningstar, eVestment, etc.).
  • Provides consultative services to support sales efforts and training for investment products through regular interaction with sales teams, investment teams, and other internal clients.
  • Leads the day-to-day usage of the core analytical tools, both internal and external (e.g. Morningstar), that are used by the Research and Portfolio Management teams.
  • Designs and maintains analytics, risk reports, attribution, stress testing, etc. for managed funds in partnership with key internal stakeholders.
  • Works closely with portfolio managers, external managers and analytic teams to understand investment portfolios, exposures and risks.
  • Key contributor to risk management process across Lincoln's investment business including analyzing fund attribution & fund exposures, derivative exposures & risk, and potential impacts to the variable annuity hedge program, product pricing impacts.
  • Contributes to the risk management process, including fund attribution and factor exposures, derivatives exposures and risks, and the potential impacts to Lincoln’s variable annuity hedge program.
  • Participates in the relationship management of external asset/investment managers, including optimally leveraging their investment expertise, intellectual capital & best ideas while understanding Lincoln's overall mission & the feasibility of strategies.
