About The Position

Serves as a point-of-contact for inventory-related tasks and issues in a distribution center. Supports management by providing guidance and training to inventory control associates. This role involves troubleshooting complex support or operational problems for junior level associates. Under limited supervision, independently resolves issues and applies a variety of methods to develop customized solutions. May lead the daily operations of a department or team. Work typically involves infrequent review of output by a supervisor or direct customers of the process. Assists with supervisory duties but does not have hiring/firing authority. Trains, delegates tasks, and reviews the work of junior level associates.

Requirements

• Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas.
• Generally 7+ years of experience in area of responsibility.

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of experience working in inventory control.
• Prior distribution center experience.
• Previous experience operating material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Coaches and trains inventory control associates on inventory and count procedures.
• Coordinates and prioritizes inventory control work to ensure tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
• Records and reports all inventory adjustments, pallet audits, and discrepancies on a weekly basis.
• Reviews cycle counts and tracks discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Checks for product quality and communicates quality issues to vendors.
• Determines the appropriate placement for inventory based on size, selling volume, and other applicable factors.
• Assists with loading damaged merchandise into delivery vehicles using powered and non-powered material handling equipment.
• Serves as back-up for all inventory and general warehouse functions.
