About The Position

The Lead Instructor serves as the senior teaching and leadership resource for the studio, ensuring that the quality and integrity of the Club Pilates method are upheld across all classes and instructors. This position is responsible for providing exceptional instruction to members, mentoring and supporting instructors, overseeing instructional quality, and collaborating with management to enhance the overall studio experience. The Lead Instructor plays a vital role in maintaining consistency, safety, and excellence in all aspects of studio operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 450-hour comprehensive Pilates education certification.
  • 3+ years of teaching experience within the Club Pilates system (required).
  • Current CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Deep understanding of the Club Pilates method, brand standards, and instructional best practices.
  • Strong anatomical knowledge and commitment to safety in every class.
  • Proficiency with a wide range of Pilates equipment, including Reformer, Springboard, EXO-Chair, TRX, Magic Circle, and hand weights.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—able to motivate, coach, and connect with diverse clients and staff.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and support others.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Passion for ongoing education and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provides mentorship and guidance to instructors to ensure adherence to Club Pilates standards.
  • Conducts quarterly instructor evaluations and provides constructive feedback.
  • Leads and facilitates monthly instructor meetings to communicate updates, training opportunities, and best practices.
  • Assists with onboarding and training of new instructors.
  • Collaborates with management to address performance or operational concerns related to instructional staff.
  • Teach a minimum of 12 hours per week between group and private sessions, maintaining a consistent presence in the studio.
  • Ensure classes are taught safely, effectively, and in alignment with the Club Pilates method and philosophy.
  • Monitor and inspect studio equipment for safety, wear, and maintenance needs; report and recommend updates, as necessary.
  • Assist in creating and managing the studio class schedule in coordination with the Manager and Owner.
  • Actively sub classes when needed to maintain consistency in the schedule.
  • Mentor and develop instructors through observation, coaching, and ongoing feedback.
  • Plan, organize, and host monthly instructor meetings to promote team engagement and ongoing professional development.
  • Identify areas for improvement in instructional delivery and operational efficiency; communicate recommendations to management.
  • Provide input for client workshops and special programs that align with member interests and studio goals.
  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and reliability in all aspects of job performance.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted with integrity, confidentiality, and respect for colleagues and members.
