The Lead Instructor will play a key role in delivering exceptional culinary education at Pizza University, combining in-depth expertise in pizza dough, dough chemistry, and various pizza styles with a passion for teaching. This role involves both practical and theoretical instruction, collaboration with internal teams, and active engagement in promoting Pizza University and Marra Forni’s brand to culinary professionals and enthusiasts. Responsibilities include hands-on event execution, culinary support, and collaboration with operations teams to ensure smooth delivery of programs and events.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in pizza making with high-level competency in baking, dough handling, and multiple pizza styles
  • Strong knowledge of dough chemistry and formulation
  • Proven experience teaching both theoretical and practical culinary skills
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable supporting marketing initiatives, social media engagement, and content creation
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with confidence in public speaking and networking
  • Customer-focused and relationship-driven, with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Problem-solving, creative thinking, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Event planning and execution experience
  • Sales-oriented with a goal-driven mindset
  • Basic computer literacy, with willingness to develop proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability and willingness to travel for events, including overnight and out-of-state as needed
  • SERV Safe Certification or ability to attain one
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on event execution
  • Culinary support
  • Collaboration with operations teams to ensure smooth delivery of programs and events
  • Master pizza dough and dough chemistry, including dough types, formulation, and handling techniques
  • Teach both theoretical concepts and practical skills for a variety of traditional and contemporary pizza styles in in-person and online professional and recreational classes and events
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality educational experiences that ensure learning objectives are met
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to continuously improve curriculum and training materials
  • Coordinate with external instructors to ensure timely preparation of all ingredients, dough, and equipment lists needed for their classes
  • Work closely with Marra Forni Marketing personnel to develop content, including video production and promotional materials
  • Engage collaboratively with Marra Forni Culinary and Sales teams, Pizza University Strategic Partners, Ambassadors, and customers
  • Support the promotion of Pizza University through joint sales efforts with the Pizza University Program Manager
  • Contribute to social media promotion before, during, and after events
  • Work with the Program Manager and marketing team to prepare content and materials for trade shows and promotional events
  • Able to deliver live demonstrations of various pizza styles to promote both Pizza University and partner brands when their products are featured
  • Assists with warehouse, inventory, and logistical duties as needed
  • Support instructors during classes while actively networking with students
