About The Position

The Infusion Lead RN will direct patient care, provide clinical oversight, along with operational support in an outpatient gastroenterology infusion center.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of NY
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a registered nurse.
  • Previous supervisory/lead nursing experience
  • Works well with both the medical staff and patients to ensure safe, quality experience for all patients.
  • Knowledge of pertinent medical and drug information is necessary to examine and treat gastroenterological patients.
  • Knowledge of gastroenterological conditions, treatments and standard of care pertaining to those conditions/medications/testing, etc.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking with sharp attention to detail
  • Can perform duties accurately in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Can demonstrate exemplary patient service skills and display courteousness and respect.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to remain cordial throughout the workday as well as to maintain patience under occasional stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills: Electronic medical records, MS Office
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA Laws and safeguards and be able to follow these guidelines at all times
  • Visual acuity to see and to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Responsibilities

  • Providing day-to-day clinical leadership and oversight for infusion center nursing staff.
  • Serving as a clinical resource and mentor, promoting evidence-based nursing practice and professional development.
  • Assisting with onboarding, orientation, training, and competency validation of new clinical staff.
  • Modeling exceptional patient care and professionalism while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Coordinating daily staffing assignments and workflow to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
  • Delivering direct nursing care, including administration of intravenous medications, biologics, and other infusion therapies in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Performing comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after infusion treatments.
  • Monitoring patients for adverse reactions and initiates appropriate interventions in emergency situations.
  • Providing patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, side effects, and follow-up care.
  • Ensuring accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Obtains, verifies, and records of health history, chief complaint, physical assessment including IV information. Gathers pertinent health data through physical assessments and patient records and records information in EMR.
