About The Position

Gretchen's House Child Care Centers are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lead Infant and Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to positively influence the development of young children in a nurturing and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive space for infants and toddlers to learn and grow.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with infants and toddlers in an educational or caregiving setting
  • BA in ECE or closely related field
  • Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children, co-workers and families
  • Sensitive to the individual needs of families
  • Ability to communicate with families effectively
  • Ability to supervise variety of staff
  • Knowledge of state licensing and NAEYC rules, regulations and standards
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Ability to provide appropriate guidance
  • Ability to seek supervision and use it constructively
  • Evidence of emotional maturity and stability
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
  • Evidence of sufficient judgment

Nice To Haves

  • Early childhood education certification or relevant credentials preferred
  • HighScope certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
  • Provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers
  • Observe and assess children's progress, documenting developmental milestones and communicating with parents and guardians
  • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging exploration and independence
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in compliance with licensing and safety standards
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing professional development
  • Support families through regular communication and building strong partnerships
