About The Position

Woodard & Curran is seeking a qualified Lead Operator to join their team supporting the wastewater treatment needs for a food and beverage client in Crossville, Tennessee. This role offers the opportunity to work in Industrial Wastewater Treatment, allowing for skill development in a field that presents daily challenges and learning opportunities. The position focuses on maintaining safety, compliance, and producing high-quality treated wastewater in a wastewater pretreatment plant. The Lead Operator will regularly participate in the daily operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment facility under the direction of the Project Manager. Requirements

  • High School Degree or Equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in wastewater treatment facility operator and maintenance.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as follow safety procedures.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

Nice To Haves

  • A Tennessee Wastewater License is preferred.
  • We will work with employees to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for all daily operations of the water and/or wastewater treatment facility as directed by the Plant/Project Manager.
  • Ensures that the facility meets all process control targets in the various treatment systems and odor control systems.
  • Implements policies and procedures for process monitoring and control and troubleshooting.
  • Supervises the collection of process samples or collects samples when necessary.
  • Performs in-house lab analysis and interprets their results. May be required to coordinate all additional analysis with certified labs for compliance.
  • Supervises or performs the adjustment of wastewater process systems, operations and equipment in order to comply with local, state and federal standards and compliance permit requirements.
  • Coordinates with staff to evaluate equipment performance and correct deficiencies, assists with capital planning.
  • Develops and maintains records such as chemical usage, flows, operations equipment and process checklists, diaries, logbooks and laboratory records in accordance with the compliance permit and client requests.
  • May be required to communicate with regulatory officials and client representatives.
