About The Position

Reporting to the Industrial Engineering Manager, the Sr. Lead Industrial Engineer establishes and improves systematic processes and builds efficient systems that eliminate waste of time, money, materials, person-hours, machine time, energy, and other resources that do not generate value in production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline; 8-10 years of prior experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software; knowledge of IFS preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent writing skills to publish reports, work instructions, and company procedures.
  • Willingness to travel (<10%).
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to implement change.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects with a high degree of autonomy.
  • May be responsible for the direct supervision on Industrial Engineers and Industrial Engineering Technicians.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain department policies and procedures.
  • Implement methods for improving value stream efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities. This could include restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and recommending workstations or equipment to purchase.
  • Develop and implement improvements to part setup, Bill of Materials and routings in the ERP to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.
  • Define standards for Lean Initiatives and develop Kaizen events. Develop and perform training on lean concepts and initiatives. Lead groups in lean initiatives and Kaizen events.
  • Develop better applications to provide digital information to production.
  • Analyze process capability studies data to determine variances to standards and provide recommendations for improving the capability of the process.
  • Develop and analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) studies to identify out-of-control variances.
  • Assess that the application of calibrated gauges is valid using Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R & R) studies. Analyze and update calibration frequencies and ensure the calibration program stays in compliance.
  • Define the use and management of Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) by creating and developing templates and standards for PFMEAs. Facilitate the development of PFMEA for new products and value streams.
  • Conduct value stream cost comparison studies to determine efficient utilization of manufacturing personnel and equipment.
  • Develop foundation and formatting standards for the AROW Business System (ABS). Evaluate new and revised process documents to verify they meet internal standards and process them in the document control system.
  • Promote efficient utilization by evaluating and improving plant wide sequence of operations.
  • Maintain and improve plant wide layouts.
  • Analyze inventory space and usage to ensure it is right-sized for business needs.
  • Participate in development and design of new product lines to provide recommendations for effective manufacturing.
  • Process all necessary information and maintain records of studies and recommendations for improvements.
  • Understand the AROW Business System policy and objectives and how you affect conformance to them.
