About The Position

The Lead HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Installer Technician is responsible for leading the installation of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to ensure systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. The Lead Installer will serve as the primary point of contact on installation projects and may provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred (e.g., EPA certification).
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in HVAC installation.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and HVAC software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong physical stamina and manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, and ductwork, in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
  • Perform wiring and ensure proper connection of electrical components.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and replacing filters.
  • Diagnose and repair system issues, including mechanical and electrical components.
  • Test system performance and ensure optimal functionality.
  • Use specialized tools to identify malfunctions and resolve them effectively.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Communicate clearly with clients about system conditions, repair options, and preventative maintenance tips.
  • Provide cost estimates and recommendations for system upgrades or replacements.
  • Adhere to local and national safety regulations and building codes.
  • Safely handle refrigerants and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports.
  • Complete work orders and ensure timely submission.
  • Act as the lead on installation projects, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Provide direction and mentorship to junior technicians or apprentices as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
